A note about “China’s Urban Farmers” I have seen this a lot in suzhou’s industrial zones. These photos were taken in Suzhou New District 1 minute walk from Tesco. In the second pic you can see the Shangri-la Hotel in the background. I presume these are migrant workers who are farming any land they can find to get by. Perhaps these are rural people displaced by China’s rapid expansion.
